Ok, it's from a church cookbook (Eden Mennonite Church Cookbook, compiled by the Young Married Sunday School Class in 1976, to be precise), and it's total Midwestern Basic Fare. But some evenings it's just what you need....
5 oz. egg noodles
1/2 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1 can mushroom soup
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sour cream
(sliced mushrooms... though Marie Wedel didn't call for them :-)
Cook and drain noodles. Brown ground beef. Add onion & mushrooms and brown. Add salt, pepper, soup, and water. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream and noodles and heat through.
(Has 125 g carb when made with whole wheat noodles.) |
