Recipe: From AZ Republic, minimally modified

4 strips bacon, cut to 1" pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/2 t. Italian seasoning
1 lb. lean ground beef
14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 c. chicken broth
3 T. soy sauce
2 c. whole wheat pasta
salt and pepper to taste

In a large skillet (or wok) over medium-high heat, fry bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and drain as much fat as you wish. Add garlic, onion, Italian seasoning to skillet and cook until onion begins to soften, about 5 minutes. Increase heat to high. Add beef and cook until lightly browned. Mix in rest of ingredients. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender (about 15 minutes). Adjust seasoning.
